Our Regional Co-ordinator for the Canary Islands, Deepika Harjani recently joined UK Consul Charmaine Arbouin and viceconsul Helen Keating in a meeting with the police authorities responsible for the TIE process on the Island of La Palma in the Canaries. They were told that around 300 people registered with the Ayuntamientos of La Palma have either registered as resident for the first time or exchanged their green certificate for the new TIE. They also met with partner organisations who were grateful for explanations of procedures following the UK’s exit from the EU and who play a really important role in spreading the word to the UK nationals that they are in touch with.
Remember that if you live on La Palma you can go to the police station at Calle Perez Galdos, 16 in Santa Cruz de La Palma from monday to friday between 8am 2pm. The authorities have been working hard to reach all UK nationals, including those who might be harder to contact, including those living on their boats at the ports.
If you live anywhere on the Canaries you can contact the Age in Spain Residency Helpline for support – residency@ageinspain.org / +34 932 209 741
