Age in Spain support services for your healthcare in Spain:
Private healthcare insurance policies and advice
We have contacts with several Spanish health insurance companies who offer policies valid for visa or residency applications. These policies must offer cover that is equal or superior to that provided by the Spanish public health system, and the policy should have no exclusions or co-payments.
Our advisor can arrange quotes and comparisons to suit your requirements, and advise you if you are having trouble in finding a policy because of any pre-existing medical condition or your age.

If you decide to use a health insurance company with which we directly partner through our referral system and your policy is accepted, we will receive a small donation from the company to support our vital services – at no extra cost to you. This will not affect the independence or quality of the help we give you. We will always be transparent with you to help you ensure you can make an informed decision about the policies in order to best meet your requirements.
Medical Certificates for Visa Applications
If you need a medical certificate to support your visa application, this is a fast and cost effective one stop service. The certificate has to be dated when you are visiting Spain as the Consulates will check the stamps in your passport.
We will connect you with an English-speaking doctor in Spain, who will carry out an online consultation and can then issue the required official Spanish medical certificate which meets the Spanish Government’s Health Regulations.
This certificate is a Spanish document and so does not require legalisation (apostille) or translation. The cost is €90 per person and you pay the doctor directly.
For more information and to request an appointment, contact health@ageinspain.org.
The doctors make a small personal donation to support Age in Spain’s vital services if you decide to engage them after enquiring via this email link – at no extra cost to you.
